Fern & Faerie Soaker Pattern

I've knitted the Fern & Faerie soaker pattern twice. It has options for circular or flat needles which is why I chose it because I don't own any circular needles. Actually I'm a bit intimidated by the circular thing.

I found the pattern really straight forward & easy to follow once I figured out a couple of the U.S. anomolies (which just involved a google search & a telephone call to my mother "Do you think they mean to do this?").

However, I don't like the actual shape of the thing. I've seen plenty of people who have fleece covers that are exactly the same shape only fleece. So I know it's common, but I just think it's ugly. I think the rise is a bit high & I don't like the way the leg cuffs seem stuck on the front. Of course it's not quite so ugly when it's actually on the baby, but it's still a bit lacking in the cuteness factor.

All in all it's a great first cover for an inexperienced knitter to make.
