Announcing: The Australian Nappy Network!

We are pleased (and a bit excited!) to announce the name and logo of the organisation running Reusable Nappy Week(tm) this year and into the future, the:

Australian Nappy Network(tm)

Both the name and logo have taken a long time to develop and refine, with feedback saught from a carefully selected committee of highly regarded and known contributors from various sections of the Australian nappy world and the handiwork of a couple of graphic designers. We feel the final product is sharp, simple, professional and modern! We hope you agree!

It is envisaged that the Australian Nappy Network(tm), which is nearing formal incorporation, will be an independent non profit advocacy organisation comprising a collaborative network of Australian parents, researchers, health professionals, retailers, advocates and environmental agencies, and others. While it will possibly comprise members of the various online communities already supporting cloth nappy users, such as OzClothNappies and Nappycino, the organisation's purpose is focussed on advocacy and networking. Our mission will be to objectively educate and support the community, using up to date research findings and practical experiences of many parents, on the health, environmental and financial advantages of using cloth nappies.

There will be opportunities for individuals and businesses from all realms of the reusable nappy world to support the Australian Nappy Network(tm), through membership, volunteer advocacy roles and fundraising through sponsorships, advertising and advocacy merchandise.

We anticipate that the Australian Nappy Network(tm) will be officially launched during Reusable Nappy Week(tm), 19-25th March 2007 - so we are calling on everyone in the cloth nappy community to band together and help spread the word by co-ordinating, helping to co-ordinate and participating in local advocacy opportunities such as nappychinos, information sessions, displays and by communicating with local media. Let's make Reusable Nappy Week(tm) and the launch of the Australian Nappy Network(tm) as big and far reaching as we possibly can!

All States are seeking extra hands on deck, particularly ACT and NT, however please put your hand up if you think you can help! Some events have already been listed at the website - but keep the website bookmarked, the number of events and activities will just grow!

We look forward to collaborating with you to ensure that cloth nappy use becomes more widely recognised as a normal, viable and accessible parenting choice.
